2 Months

Well today marks two months in Italy. Wow where has the time gone!
This week I started my new time table. It was like the first day all over again, but better. I have class with 1st year students and they are wonderful! They are so willing to help and are very funny.
On Mondays I go to another campus for school, and I have 2 hours of gym and them 2 hours of Italian. Now when I say gym I mean cart-wheeling, front flippin', painful gym. (I literally had trouble opening the fridge today!) but it was some of the most fun I've had since school started.
Today I had math with a new class, and I love them. Not going to lie at first I was really bummed that I had classes with first year students, but now I'm kinda glad I do. Today was a very interesting because when I walked in class at first I stood there looking stupid, but then once I introduced myself and got seated, everyone came over to me and started asking me a million questions. I got the usual "when's your birthday? ", "how old are you?," "where are you from?, " but some of my favorites were :
Do you like tractors?
You live in South Canada? They speak German right?
Are you single ?
Can you sing?

Then one of the boys came up to me with his friend, and I can not make this up, his friend started beat boxing and the boy started rapping to me in English. I was in tears I was laughing so hard. Then this boy went on to say this, and I quote "I speak very good English, so if you need help, I can help you with the Italian man! (wink)"

These passed two months have been some of the best times of my life. Yes sometimes its been hard, but those hard times have made me stronger as a person. This exchange has opened my eyes to a whole new world; I've discovered things about myself I didn't know, my strengths, my weakness, new interest, and my deep, passionate love for pasta❤ I've seen places I've only dreamed about seeing, I've meet some of the most amazing people, and made some of the most amazing friends... and its only been 2 months! I can't wait to see what's in store for the months to come!
I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for rotary! I always try to think of a gift to give the Rotarians who helped me get here, but no gift will every be enough. THANK YOU rotary for everything you've done for me.

Thank you and meet my district

I wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for rotary. I'm forever in debt and grateful. Thank you.

THANK YOU

I would surely not be here if it wasn't for Myles Golden. He helped me and mother with the application at the last second.  Thank you!!!
Now Vicki... if you don't know Vicki, I suggest meeting her! She is one of the most amazing people I've ever met. She is fun, out-going, and just someone you like to be around! Vicki thank you for everything you've done for me, and fun weekends in Charleston!
Jack and Mary Newby, where to begin. I will never be able to thank you two enough. You have helped me so much through this process. I'm so thankful that you are in district 7750, because I don't think I would have made it this far without y'all. I know I can always count on you to be there for me. Thank you, thank you, thank you for everything.

Note: I got permission to use these photos... well some of them:)

Oh Andrea. I really don't know how I got so lucky to be in district 2060! Andrea has to be one of the most interesting people I have ever meet. He is always picking on me, but in a good way. I am a picky eater, so I don't eat a lot, and he is always telling me to "Try something new." Andrea also makes the best faces in his pictures. Andrea thank you for everything and always making me laugh.

Claudio, Claudio, Claudio. Claudio is always smiling! He knows a lot about everything. He went on exchange when he was my age and so he can relate to us... kinda. He also picks on me for not eating, he says I need to make a list of things I will eat, so he will know. I'm so glad to have him in my district! Thank you Claudio for everything!

Last but most defiantly not last is Raffaela. Raffaela is one of those people you just love to be around. She is always laughing at what we say. Thank you Raffaela for putting up with a crazy group and making us laugh.
(unfortunately I do not have a photo)

FLORENCE!

So this past weekend, the RYE committee had a meeting in Florence, and they allowed us to tag along with them.
OH MY GOSH I can't find the right words to describe this beautiful city! 3 days was not enough. Now, sit back, relax, and let me take you on a photo tour of Florence.

The first thing we did when we got there was go to get pizza and then walked to the duomo. It literally took my breathe away. These pictures don't do this maginfect building justice! We arrived at 9:30ish so it was night time and it was all lit up... okay here you go just look!

Pizza under the duomo... YES!

My beautiful ladies and I

The next day we were up at 8. We had to go to the meeting to just greet the Rotarians and then we were off. We started our day with the market and then the duomo... but this time we went inside!!!

Then we had lunch behind the duomo. It was one of the best meals I've had in Italy! Then we went to the Galleria degli Uffizi. That was one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen!

Then rotary took us out for pizza and gelato! It was some of the best pizza I've had.

The next day was another busy day, and unfortunately it was our last. We went to Galleria dell'Accademia and for those who don't know this is the galleria where David is located. He was much bigger than I expected. Then the most wonder thing happened... WE FOUND SUBWAY!

Then it was so long Florence. Florence thank you for all the laughs and gorgeous views. Rotary THANK YOU for making my dreams come true. This weekend was one I will cherish forever and ever.

Then today it was back to reality. But today was actually a wonderful day. I found out that starting next week I'll begin my new schedule, I'm nervous but also very excited . Also, today after school I had to take the bus home, and it was pouring, my friend Carlotta gave me her umbrella.  I am forever grateful.
